Mizu Designs is the work of Australian printmaker and illustrator, Kylie Budge.
Kylie studied woodblock printing in Kyoto, Japan, her much loved home for seven years. Her design name, Mizu, means water in Japanese. Water signifies life and watercolour inks feature strongly in the traditional Japanese process of printmaking.
Kylie is also an illustrator and maker of giclee art prints. Much of her design inspiration comes from Japan and all things wild and natural including indigenous Australian plant life. Kylie loves insects, especially dragonflies, and adores seed pods of all kinds. She is always experimenting with some kind of printmaking, be it on paper or with textiles.
